AS PSYCHEDELICS ENTER THE MAINSTREAM
…it is important to cultivate the necessary knowledge and critical thinking about these substances. While medical research is demonstrating the therapeutic value of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, most people using psychedelic substances are not medically supervised. Nevertheless, their experiences might be beneficial, but they are often at risk for disorienting and traumatic experiences due to misinformation and lack of preparedness.
At this seminar, you will learn:
- History of ancient and shamanic and contemporary uses of psychedelic substances
- Current clinical research into the therapeutic value of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy to treat:
- posttraumatic stress disorder
- anxiety related to life-threatening illnesses.
- How psychedelics might provide a “corrective” mystical experience of connectedness to nature to counter our sense of distance from nature that is at the root of the environmental and climate crisis.
- Potential applications as well as potential side-effects of “microdosing psychedelics,” i.e. the use of low doses below the perceptual level to enhance performance and creativity and to reduce anxiety and depression.
